Turning on the local TV news yesterday morning, I’m informed that one of the Baltimore “public” schools has decided to put metal detectors at all entrances because a lot of “kids” have been bringing guns and knives to school. A mom was interviewed and asked what she thought of “kids” bringing guns and knives to school. She said: “Well, kids will be kids.” (I must confess to having carried a gun as a teenager, but only when dressed in bright orange and hunting deer or rabbits and pheasants and never in school).
