Yesterday, at a CATO forum on No Child Left Behind (NCLB), I asked neocon guru “Checker” Finn, who, along with a Bush administration spokesperson, where taking quite a pounding from the CATO crowd for supporting NCLB, if he favored subjecting private schools who participated in a (hypothetical) federal voucher program to the same testing and other requirements NCLB imposes on “public” schools. Finn said he did favor imposing federal mandates on private schools who accept federal funds.
