Ari Berman of the Nation notes the odd coincidence that many recipients of federal grants under Bush’s “faith-based” program are black churches whose pastors endorsed Bush. In at least one case, a pastor who supported Gore in 2000 switched to Bush after receiving a “faith-based” grant. Meanwhile, it appears that William Kristol and Charles Krauthammmer worked on Bush’s inaugural address as “consultants”, a fact neither disclosed when praising the speech in print and on the air. Thanks to Alina for bringing this to my attention.
