The fascist commie mayor of Milton, Florida (in the FL panhandle) decreed that Milton citizens had to wear masks. Mayor Heather Lindsay issued the declaration on Friday. However, the Milton city council called an emergency public meeting Monday night to discuss either approving or rescinding the emergency order. Only three of the seven council members in attendance wore masks. Only four citizens spoke in favor of the mask mandate. More than a dozen spoke against it. By unanimous vote, the city council rescinded the mayor’s mask decree. But note what the mayor said: “It is a sad state of affairs today that there is so much passion around personal liberties; if that same passion were applied to preventing the spread of this disease, imagine where we could be.” And you wonder why I called her a fascist commie.
As a former resident of the Florida panhandle, I applaud the citizens of Milton for shutting down their government’s mask tyranny.
