One of my military readers, a retired US Naval Reserve Storekeeper First Class, made what I thought was a profound statement that I wish I had thought of: “I think that each branch of the military should put a recruiting booth in the lobby of these megachurches . . . and see if anyone actually enlists.” Excellent point. Let the Christian warmongers send their own sons to die in Iraq and whatever country is next on the list. Just don’t expect the rest of us to send ours.
