Mark of the Bug, or Mark of the Beast?

A few months ago, I wrote a negative blog about the firm VeriChip—a company which manufactures microchips for implanting in human beings for health (implanted medical records) and security (in lieu of company IDs) purposes. I recently came across an article that says that the company is developing a microchip that is to be used as an early warning system for many potential diseases (e.g., viruses).
