My 5-second impression, all I can take, is that conventions have changed like many other events in America. They are staged now, managed, and controlled. This is another reason for inserting jazz in here, because jazz is spontaneous and improvised and of the moment, i.e. genuine. I prefer passing clouds to a great deal else, and certainly to conventions. Down with all this hypnosis.
