If by “American capitalism” he means nationalization of the financial industry and massive doses of redistribution and inflation, he is indeed defending that. But then he warns of too much government. I for one am glad that the outgoing despot has decided that there is, after all, a limit to government action. What a market-loving compassionate conservative!
