The COVID-inspired lockdowns, a worldwide phenomenon, are aptly termed LOCKDOWN COMMUNISM. The people who put the lockdowns in place were state officials, and they used the powers of the state to enforce them. In doing so, they destroyed private property. They violated property rights. They tore up property-based contracts. It is this massive state-led and state-made destruction of all sorts of property rights that places the lockdowns in the category of communism. Communism is a primitive social system that’s characterized by the state-enforced abolition of private property. Communism enforces decrees that shape social, economic and political control. That is precisely what lockdowns have done and continue to do.

A few of the details of lockdown communism appear here. “By mid April, nearly 300 million people, or about 90 per cent of the population, were under some form of lockdown in the United States…” Quoting this account that uses some value-laden and biased adjectives, there have been “Closing of schools and kindergartens. Closing of non-essential shops (shops and stores apart from food, doctors and drug stores). Closing of non-essential production. Cancellation of recreational venues and closing of public places. Curfews. Stay-at-home orders and total movement control. Border closures. Social distancing measures and social movement restrictions. Travel restrictions.” Church services and gatherings have been singled out for restrictions.

All of these restrictions and others like them abolish private property, abolish contracts and disrupt the production of goods and services. Government decrees bring this about and these decrees replace the pre-COVID private property relations. This is why the entire lockdown phenomenon has to be understood to be lockdown communism.

It is shocking that a great part of the world’s countries would adopt communism as a problem-solving method to cope with a virus. Communism, we thought, was dead and buried, with the exception of a few unfortunate countries still saddled with it in one form or another. Who would have thought that the U.S. would rush into communism of such broad scope in such a short period of time? Who would have thought 6 months ago that the country would be placed under lockdown communism? Who would have imagined that a demonic system in such disrepute, a satanic system reviled by history and by anyone who has lived under it, the communist system, would trap America in its deadly embrace, taking the disguised form of lockdown communism?
