Sean McCandless says the New Hampshire motto remains but has changed meaning:
“The New Hampshire state motto didn’t die, it has merely been reinterpreted in a Wilsonian/neoconservative manner.
It is now to be understood as a threatening command to all of our colonies: Live free..or DIE!”
