Lew is such an extremist

Much as it pains me to criticize my friend and colleague Lew Rockwell, I feel I must. He has gone too far, now. He is such an extremist. In contrast, I’m a moderate. They don’t call me Walter Moderate Block for nothing. What enormity is Lew guilty of this time?

He has come out against trade sanctions. That, in and of itself, would not be so bad. But Lew’s extremism consists of the fact that he opposes ALL ALL sanctions (https://www.lewrockwell.com/lrc-blog/the-evil-of-sanctions/). He goes so far as to say (emphasis added): “… anyone championing trade barriers against Russia, Iran, Cuba, OR ANY PLACE ELSE is an enemy of capitalism, freedom, and peace.”

Now, surely, this is too extreme a position to take for a moderate libertarian such as me. In my moderate view, SOME sanctions are indeed justified. I have in mind sanctions against the Martians, the Venusians, and their ilk. If we allow imports from those places, THEY’LL BE TAKEN ERRRR JOBS! So, I call upon all good Republicans and Democrats to initiate tariffs and quotas against these outer space-nicks, who are even now trying to undersell us, and “dump” their goods on us. Earth first! say I!
