I met Carson about 50 years ago. I was working in radio in my college days, and he came to town to speak to a broadcasters’ organization. He had just landed a job in network television – a daytime game show – and was not yet a nationally recognized figure, although he was well-known, in Nebraska, for his work at WOW radio and TV in Omaha.
