JFK — Accept Our Diverse World as It Is, by Patrick J. Buchanan

This is an amazing column on LRC today by conservative Pat Buchanan focusing upon “The Peace Speech” — JFK’s Commencement Address at American University, June 10, 1963. Buchanan demonstrates prudential insight and introspection in taking the core principled message of non-confrontational peaceful coexistence and mutual respect for diversity in Kennedy’s most important address of his presidency (hailed as one of the most important by any president) and applying it to the tense geopolitical conditions of today fraught with belligerence and mistrust. There are many observers who believe that it was this speech that directly led to JFK’s murder and the November 22, 1963 coup d’état by the deep state.
