In Mike Rogers’s terrific LRC essay on the pride of discriminating, Mike quips: “a great Jewish athlete (good luck finding one of those)” It reminded me of the time when I was a kid back in the 1960s I purchased a book on famous Jewish athletes. This very thin book (duh!) actually had to include chess players Sam Rashevsky and Bobby Fischer as “athletes” in order to full it up!!
