Jan Triska, RIP

Jan Triska, a man regarded as the Czech Republic’s greatest actor, died in Prague on September 25, 2017, at the age of 80. Forced to leave his homeland when the Soviets were in power, he came to America to pursue a productive career in both film and stage performances. He returned to Prague to participate with his close friend, Vaclav Havel, in the 1989 Velvet Revolution that ran the Soviets out of his country. Triska took over the radio station to inform his fellow Czechs of what was taking place.

While I never had the pleasure of meeting Triska, his daughter, Jana Triska, was one of the better students I enjoyed working with in my decades of law school teaching.

Liberty-minded people will always be missed.
