Is the Great Walter Williams a Defender of the Confederacy?

Yes, according to the Official View of the Cato Institute, as expressed by its bloggers.  They contend that critics of the Lincoln regime are necessarily “defenders of the Confederate government,” and should therefore be banished from civilized society, or worse.

Walter Williams would certainly qualify as being among those Cato would like to banish from the planet in light of not only his article today on this Web site, but also the fact that he wrote the brilliant foreword to my book, The Real Lincoln.

It is therefore reasonable to assume that it is also the Official View of the Cato Institute that critics of FDR are Nazi sympathizers; critics of Truman are defenders of imperial Japan and North Korean communists; critics of Lyndon Johnson are necessarily defenders of North Vietnamese communists; and critics of George W. Bush are in cahoots with terrists (that’s Dub-Yuh speak for “terrorists”).
