I Didn’t Vote: Corwin vs. Hochul

The 26th Congressional District blankets my residence, but I didn’t vote in the special election. I don’t vote. Corwin (Republican) lost to Hochul (Democrat), 42% to 48%, with Tea Party getting 8%. If the pundits are correct that Medicare made the difference, then kicking the fiscal can down the road won the election, because Jane Corwin painted a more dire portrait of Medicare and favored repeal of Obamacare, while Kathy Hochul was for fixing it and raising taxes.

Looks to me like voters still want a free lunch and still think they can find others to pay for it. Politicians still can run and win on supplying the lunch at someone else’s expense. The aggregate results are to continue and reinforce the trend toward larger government, more regulation, deficits, inflation, stagnation, and economic deterioration.
