‘Hornberger,’ the Video

Apropos Jacob Hornberger’s excellent excoriation of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, here’s a video that takes it to the street. Why Rand Paul didn’t use this sort of argument—except replacing Black owner/Klu Klux Klan customer with Gay (like Maddow) Owner/Homophobic customer—is beyond me. I guess Paul was blindsided. He’ll know for the next time. Of course, someone might counter that an antagonistic customer would never patronize either owner-type of establishment. Granted—but an emergency situation could hypothetically arise where an antagonistic customer/job seeker felt that his or her material needs (e.g., a meal, a drink, a hard-to-find product, a much-needed job in these terrible economic times) were more important than his or her own anti-social views.
