Heightened Anxiety and Social Hysteria in America

When a shovel is mistaken for an axe and when no adult has the presence of mind to deal with that fact, resulting in a school lockdown, it would appear that the people involved are living in a state of nightmare in which ordinary social life is bent greatly out of shape or even lacking all suitable definition of form.
