Grotesque Lies on Health Care

I thought I might have a look at the Affordable Care Act (983 pages). I didn’t have to go far before running into a problem. The first sentence of Title I reads

“This Act puts individuals, families and small business owners in control of their health care.”

This is false. This is a LIE. Does this Act repeal Medicare? Does it repeal Medicaid? Does it get rid of all entry barriers to the practice of medicine? Does it remove all taxation relating to health care benefits? Does this Act remove all government activity, sanctions, rules, taxes, and subsidies relating to health care?

Do I need the government to put me in control of my health care? All I need is to be let alone to run my life. Do thousands of pages of government regulations put me in control of my health care?

It continues “Americans without insurance coverage will be able to choose the insurance coverage that works best for them in a new open, competitive insurance market…”

Another LIE. If there are penalties for not choosing a plan, how is that an open, competitive market? In an open market, one has the freedom to participate or not.

Do I need to read the rest of this trash?
