Bad news for Republican hacks and neocons. States are rebelling against Bush’s “No Child Left Behind.” Among the states standing up to Bush’s nationalization of education are such pure red states as Virginia, Utah (the state which gave Bush his largest margin of victory in 2004), and even Texas, where Bush tried out many of the policies that ended up in No Child Left Behind (including centralized testing) when he was governor.
