Economist Bruce Bartlett has been fired as a senior fellow by the National Center for Policy Analysis for writing a book: Impostor: How George W. Bush Bankrupted America and Betrayed the Reagan Legacy. Dallas-based NCPA, long an advocate of bigger government through Republicanism, denied–cross its heart and hope to die, stick a needle in its eye–that Karl Rove had ordered Bruce’s defenestration. Of course, given how good this NY Times story is for book sales, Bruce’s agent may have arranged the whole thing.
