Pete Buttigieg, a Democrat running for president, is “married” to a man. His “husband” uses his surname, Buttigieg. If Pete is elected president, what will his partner be called? First Man, I guess.
Update: I see now that Buttigieg’s partner says that “First Gentleman” is his preferred title. I can’t print some of the suggestions that some of my readers have made, but are certainly true and descriptive.
