The Wall Street Journal has pronounced the death of the era of the “end of big government” killed by a burst of government activism triggered by September 11 and Katrina. Hopefully, the failure of all levels of government to respond to Katrina, combined with the use of illegal police state tactics to “help” Katrina’s victims will make this new era of big government heralded by the WSJ mercifully short.
