Duck and Cover is a 1952 civil defense animated live-action social guidance film shown in schools aimed at students that is often popularly characterized as ridiculous Cold War propaganda. Seventy years later people laugh and point out how dramatically absurd the simplistic ideas of kids getting under their classroom desks or dropping in place and covering their heads would save them from the effects of a thermonuclear bomb.
