Did You Spot the Neo-Confederate at the Republican Convention?
Today’s Washington Post had a big story about Clint Eastwood’s speech at the Republican convention. I was out of the country and didn’t watch, but the Post had a picture of Clint and in the background was a large electronic mural of him portraying “The Outlaw Josey Wales,” the title of my favorite Eastwood movie. In that movie Clint portrays a southern yeoman farmer whose wife and children are murdered in cold blood by U.S. Army “soldiers” during the Lincoln regime. He responds by joining the Confederates.
