The great English thriller writer has died at age 89, at his home on Grand Cayman in the Caribbean. He was the author of 42 marvelous books, rooted in his earlier career as a champion jockey. Good for him for living (and dying) in a tax-haven, so the predatory UK state could not loot more of his income, and most of his estate too.
