Democrats’ Turn to Betray Americans

Republicans and Democrats take turns in betraying Americans. Sometimes they go it alone. When Bush attacked Iraq, that betrayed us. It was an aggressive war joined under knowingly false pretenses, something distinctly un-American in principle. Republicans voted 215 Yes and 6 No on the supporting Congressional resolution. Democrats voted 81 Yes and 126 No. This betrayal of our principles was mainly a Republican deal.

Obamacare was another betrayal of our ideals. Penalizing people if they do not sign up for health plans is an aggressive measure that restricts liberty. On this one, Democrats voted 277 Yes and 34 No. Republicans voted 217 No and none Yes.

At present, we are seeing a partisan alignment having to do with the government’s role in keeping us safe, i.e., in keeping law and order. Trump is clearly coming down on the side of enforcing law and order. Democrats are not supporting him. They are criticizing him again. It would be very easy for them to make statements in support of the goal of law and order, while still maintaining provisos of their choice. But that’s not what Democrats are doing.

Democrats favor something other than law and order, not even with provisos. Their aim is power. They want to unseat Trump and Republicans. They don’t care if the cities burn all summer if it gets them power. This is a betrayal of Americans too. The ideal being betrayed is fairness. It’s not a fair means of political rivalry to gain power by tolerating and encouraging mass destruction and disorder.

What Democrats claim to want in their statements and what they actually want, which is power, are two different things. Democrats are insincere. They say that Trump should unify, extend a hand, acknowledge racism, say that racism is systemic, pull people together, listen, be a democrat not a dictator, criticize police abuse, empathize, acknowledge the pain and lift up the spirits.

Now, of course, they’ve never acted in these ways toward Trump at any time. And they’ve never acknowledged when Trump did take actions to mitigate racial disparities or other such of their suggestions. They themselves refuse to acknowledge their own roles in jailing people along racial lines, destroying families, pandering, making public education worse, creating a welfare-dependent class, etc.

Little of what they say in criticism of Trump has credibility. Why should such liars and hypocrites be believed?

And in this particular case, they act as if riots and looting will stop if only Trump utters some soothing words. Why should that work?

There is a racial side to the riots. Black people have been poorly served by many of their leaders on the Democratic side. Trump has been making progress in loosening the grip of black Democrats over black people. These leaders are wasting no time in lambasting Trump for putting down riots. This contingent of bad black leaders has been recognized by those more interested in making forward headway.

Over two years ago, “National Black Leaders Condemn Promotion of ‘Civil Unrest’ Against Trump”. You read right.

“Led by Rev. William Owens (pictured), the Coalition of African American Pastors (CAAP) convened in Washington, D.C. Saturday to formally ‘denounce racial over tones against President-elect Donald Trump and challenge other black leaders to cease pushing division among people of Color for political expediency.'”

It has been sadly evident for years upon years that too many black leaders and intellectuals have been busy feeding the flames of division by promoting the notions that systemic racism was a huge problem, that equality was a huge problem, and that only radical changes in society and government could overcome these matters.

Owens said. “The current path by Democrats and some Republicans is aimed strategically to disrupt, where in the end, it’s the citizenry that will lose; we need strong leadership to move America forward.”

Yes, he saw in early 2017 that this anti-Trump motion was a strategy of intentional disruption that would hurt many Americans. Owens singled out the negative activities of Rev. Al Sharpton.

“Owens observes he would like Rev. Sharpton to ‘consider discussing the disastrous policies his office has sometimes promoted–policies that serve to entrap blacks and minorities in a cycle of dependency and require their allegiance to a party and system that does not serve their interests.'”

Trump is in a very unenviable position, and so are we. Biden is now running neck and neck with Trump in betting markets. The Republican hold over the Senate is likewise an even-money bet. We the people have been buffeted by the virus and riots. Most people want to restore normality. Riots will abate for one reason or another. The virus will become less of a worry. But nothing will have been done to avoid more major betrayals in the future, emanating from the policies implanted by the two major parties.
