Dear ZT: This poor child! When Murray Rothbard was asked this sort of question about bums, who would be their guardian in the free society, he would mention a group called “Friends of bums.” In like manner I answer about Genie: “Friends of abused children.” We already have private groups which are in effect “Friends of animals.” As for stopping the state from stepping in, that is a very difficult question. I have no solution to that except, let us all promote liberty to the best of our abilities. What else can we do?
