Commie Anarcho-syndicalism Gets Too Much Credit

Dear Walter,

Thanks a lot! I will think about it! My impression is that as long as the state exists, Chomsky definitely wants the state to do all sorts of things that violate the NAP, but if his ideal world of anarcho-syndicalism is realized, I am not sure if it would violate libertarianism. I am not so familiar with anarcho-syndicalism, but would it just consist of groups that get together voluntarily and organize themselves in a socialist fashion?

Cheers, A

Dear A:

I think you’re giving these actual commie socialists WAY too much credit. They want to ban profits, money, business, commerce, under their “anarchist” system. These people hated Margaret Thatcher because she was downsizing government. What kind of an anarchist is that?

However, I think you’re correct in the view that there COULD be such a thing as left wing socialist anarchism compatible with libertarianism: they stick to their communes and don’t ban anything compatible with the NAP. But, I know of no such actual people.

Best regards,

Walter
