‘Gen. Jack D. Ripper’ Gets the Last Laugh

I remember as a teenager watching this famous scene from Stanley Kubrick’s Dr. Strangelove and smugly laughing along with the filmmaker at his character “Gen. Jack D. Ripper’s” paranoiac diatribe against fluoridation. Fifty years later, as we all now know, the paranoiac character was right (I mean about fluoridation being unhealthy, not that the Communists were putting it into our water supply). And, by the way, even if fluoridation in water cured cancer, it is up to me (and my personal physician) to decide what medications I put in my body for my health—not some government bureaucRAT.
