CNBC: Copy Weimar

Almost anything’s better than Morning Joe, except CNN or FOX, so I watch CNBC’s Squawk Box. Today, Joe Kiernan was preening over being on the Chris Matthews show, and how different governmentocentric DC is from the real world of financial markets. Then he cut to a clip of his appearance. “Forget Helicopter Ben,” he told Matthews. “What we need is B-52 Ben.” Ah yes, the non-governmental real world.

It’s a reminder that GE, owner of NBC, is not only a major merchant of death, but also a corporatist collaborator since at least FDR’s fascist National Recovery Administration, which GE inspired.
