Cleaning Up Government Messes

Writes Darren McPhilimy:

Despite the fact that the president generously pledged my tax money to help the unfortunate folks in Haiti, I choose to make my own donation via Doctors Without Borders. Now I see that my donation and many others were likely burned up in fueling multiple abortive attempts to land at Obama International Airport. I’m used to trying to help clean up the messes made by “my” government by donating to organizations such as vietnamfriendship.org and freegaza.org, but I thought that this would be one time that my charitable efforts would not have to compete with the interests of the state. Seems that no matter how hard I try I just can’t get on the right side of government. But whose fault is that?

Thanks for keeping us informed.
