Chicago Bishop Speaks Truth to Pilate

Just two days after Illinois Governor, Rod Blagojevich, signed an “emergency” executive order requiring all pharmacists in the state to fill contraceptive perscriptions regardless of conscientious objection, he attended a memorial Mass for Pope John Paul II. After communion Bishop Thomas Paprocki gave an eloquent plea defending the right of conscience and petitioning the governor to rescind his executive order: “Mr. Governor, out of respect for our beloved Pope John Paul II, please respect his wishes; please rescind your order. Let our pharmacists be free to follow their faith!”
