Can I Move to Another Country?

Yes, I can, but I don’t plan on it. In reading the mail I have received since the publication of my article “Worship the Veterans Day” (still trying to get caught up), I feel like it is the early years of the Iraq war when I was constantly told to leave the country and go to Cuba or North Korea if I didn’t support the troops in their war. This critic didn’t tell me to go to Cuba or North Korea but “as far from America as possible.” However, he did mention Iraq, Syria, Libya, Somalia, and Pakistan.

I feel that a person like yourself deserves only the best in life so I would like you to get that by moving to another country as far away from America as possible. I would hate to have you here in this country so upset by national days of recognition for men that have been called upon by their respective governments to serve as it appears it really does affect you so. I would hate to have you feeling safe and secure in your local town, city, state knowing that there are men that may be veterans near by that have fought to protect and keep all the things you’ve so far gained or enjoyed in life to date. It is a horrible thing to know you can walk down your neighborhood and choose to do what you like be it work, or religion, or choice in what to buy sell or trade. I implore you to get out of this country as quickly as possible because of how much a veteran offends you. These evil men and women that have served America when ever it’s called upon them to lay down their life to preserve your way of freedom truly is just sickening. I want you to get out of America immediately so that you won’t be around these holy terrors that you feel compelled to write about all the time. It is apparent from all your writings that these veterans are truly the establishment of all evil in this world and I want you to know you need to protect yourself by every means possible from these types. Please move freely to Iraq, Syria, Libya, Somalia, Pakistan so that you can be more at peace and not living in some country that honors those horrible men and women that have served America in her times of need, desire to stay freely able to adhere to it’s constitution, and all the other horrifying war type things that they been called upon to perform. When you do get to a country that does not have an army that has had to at one time or another fight for a government that has called upon it’s people to defend or attack etc let me know how that goes for you so that you can share the joys of not being surrounded by Veterans like you are here in America.

Why is this so pathetic? 1. Just because a government calls upon men to serve doesn’t mean it’s right. Germany in WWII called on men to serve. That was a great thing the German army did when it invaded Poland, right? 2. Veterans have not fought to protect and keep all the things I have gained or enjoyed. Some of them may have thought they were doing so, but that doesn’t make it so or excuse their actions.

Or perhaps the whole thing is sarcasm? Good job if that is what the author intended.

A reader comments: He tells you to move to “Iraq, Syria, Libya, Somalia, Pakistan,” without realizing that by moving there, you’re more likely to encounter Americans soldiers than here at home, and not in their best light.

And another reader points out that it is extremely hard to leave the United States because of its rotten government.
