Lew, as I understand it, the official White House brand name for the war has changed to the global struggle against violent extremism — GSAVE, which doesn’t even work as a word like the ugly GWOT (the sound wet pasta makes when it falls on the kitchen floor). So, it implies that extremism is okay, so long as it isn’t violent. It also implies things aren’t going well with the “armed” portion of the war. Ooops, sorry, struggle. Why rename it if all is going well?
