Better Late than Never

A bill has been introduced in the Florida legislature to repeal the state’s 1868 ban on cohabitation, still a second-degree misdemeanor. Bills to repeal the cohabitation ban died in both chambers earlier this year. The current bill just passed the House Criminal Justice Subcommittee, but only by a 10-3 vote. Some Republicans objected. But of course, these Republicans would never vote to appropriate funds to install cameras in the homes of all legislators to make sure that they don’t violate the law. As a conservative Christians, I oppose unmarried couples living together. But that is their decision, not the government’s decision. And not the decision of Republican nanny statists.
