Baseball’s War Worship

Writes Steve Cross:

Like you, Lew, I’ve always been a baseball fan, even having Astros season tix for nearly 25 years. But attending games got to be a bore for me about 10 years ago, with the excessive jingoism and military celebrations at games (not to mention the extreme cost of attending). And Houston was blessed by the frequent attendance of the Bush Crime Family!

I’m (sadly) also a Vietnam veteran.

The baseball uniforms with camouflage were the final straw. When I was in the Army “cammies” were reserved for in-post training or combat, not for display among civilians. Now they’re omnipresent in the malls & ballparks, a perpetual reminder of the warfare state we inhabit.

Never give up your efforts to pry Americans from the propaganda of the omnipotent state!
