The Army’s Trophy Woman Deserts

“One of the first women to sign up to become an Army combat engineer is now considered a deserter after being AWOL for 30 days.” She arrived at Ft. Leonard Wood on Sept. 22, but was sent home on convalescent leave after 11 weeks. She never came back. And good for her. The military is no place for a woman. (It is no place for a man either, but that is not the subject of my post.) She, as everyone in the military, should be allowed to change her job.
