Apparently God Has Spoken

Lew, apparently elections are the voice of God, speaking through “the people,” and thus “the people” are never wrong when they elect anyone. As an alternative to the divine right of kings, this idea that God’s sovereignty is somehow articulated in and through “the people” (whoever and whatever they are) is just as medieval and just as misguided.
