Another Green Myth Hits the (Wet) Dust

That “great floating garbage patch in the Pacific,” which I first heard green radio star Art Bell discuss, turns out to have been exaggerated by a factor of more than 200. (Thanks to Travis Holte)

UPDATE After years of subscribing to Art’s podcast, and then the George Noory-Ian Punnit version, I finally stopped paying. The show had originally been just interesting enough for me to listen to, but not so interesting as to keep me awake. The typical nighttime talk show, with its pro-war, pro-state propaganda, kept me awake. But when George and Ian happily scrambled on the bloody bandwagon, they had to go. Their replacement? Free podcasts of old-time detective shows, from the good days of radio.
