A friend writes: [Fauci’s] statement “science is truth” reveals a dogmatic mindset, in my opinion. Science is not “revealed truth,” (religious dogma is revealed truth). Science is a way of understanding the world by demanding that assertions be supported by observable reality. Questioning authority, and demanding proof, are fundamental to the scientific method. … Dr. Fauci has merely substituted one form of authority (his own temporal authority) for another (the Word of God, as written in the Christian Bible).
