A Shining Sheep Among the Goats

Charles attends a church that

has happily remained open this whole time, actually enjoying an increase in attendance as folks from closed churches have been coming, some from out of state.  Many of our own parishioners have been making extra Masses and devotions as well.  Oh, and no one wears a mask nor practices any of the other silly rules.  The message from the pulpit has been consistent, direct, and uncompromising. …

Praise God! No wonder this congregation flourishes:

We have 4 Masses on Sunday, and I would say in total there are around 300 to 400 parishioners.  … [At] the second Mass on Sunday, which is a sung Mass, … attendance has actually improved.  The first and third Masses saw a dip at first and have gradually started to increase, but I don’t think they are at their pre-insanity levels.  The 4th Mass has stayed about the same.  The daily Mass attendance has increased, more so than even before the insanity, with our regular parishioners making greater efforts to attend (I’m sure out of a spirit of gratitude that our church has been spared [no one has snitched, no cops have hassled, and (our state’s fuhrer) did not act on his threat to close churches], and for continued blessings, graces, and protection).  We are definitely getting folks from other churches, even from out of state. …

Something else which might be of interest and encouragement: we have 5 priests at our church, and those priests serve at least 6 different mission chapels in 5 states.  Those chapels have all seen somewhat of a dip in attendance, but the message about the “pandemic” has been the same, resulting in parishioners who are well-informed and unafraid.  No one wears a mask or practices the silly rules.  They did need to get creative at one chapel due to the cops, so they held two Masses on Sunday to avoid them: one at 6AM and the other at 8PM, both by candlelight.

How lovely! I trust no one hid those lights under a bushel.

With his email, Charles enclosed a picture of

one of our priests who is now forced to wear a mask on a plane when travelling to our mission chapels.  [It] is his design which he asked one of his parishioners to make for him.

The mask has no filter and is for show only. … [The] left side displays a hammer and sickle, right side says “Your Fear Costs My Freedom.”  He also has a “1984”-themed mask…

And the icing on the cake:

Our pastor is a regular reader of LRC, as you may have guessed. …
