I often tend to be a bit skeptical of what I see in the media, and the recent firing of Juan Williams has raised some questions with me. Most important is this: Was this a contrived incident? The reason I ask is that one generally does not go from being fired from a long-time job and then the next day being offered a $2 million contract.

Did this whole thing occur in order to get Williams canned from NPR (which was eager to do so) in order to garner some publicity for Fox’s new hire? Who knows? Maybe things happened just as they said, but I reserve the right to be a bit skeptical.
