to my to my post on Bush and Christian Charity from LRC reader Trey Summitt: If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. (1 Corinthians 13:3) Our government cannot love, since it’s not a person, and we pay our taxes from fear, not love. I guess this means we won’t gain anything from our “gift”.
