In his August 10 column on Townhall.com Thomas Sowell says this about the more than 1800 Americans who have died in Iraq for reasons that we all know had nothing to do with defending their own country: “All the American deaths in Iraq since the war began are not even half of the deaths of U.S. Marines taking the one Island of Iwo Jima in a couple of months of fighting” in WW II.
