Benjamin M. Anderson’s Economics and the Public Welfare: A Financial and Economic History of the United States, 1914—1946, first appeared in 1949. Anderson was in a unique position to observe, record, and analyze this history. He had three professions: professor, practicing economist, and writer-journalist.
