Voting for Yellow Dogs, Again

DIGG THIS

A special note: I would like to say at the very outset that I have the highest respect and admiration for Congressman Ron Paul. In past years, I have supported him with campaign contributions. I wish him well. However, it is my hope that Congressman Paul will soon resign from the Republican Party. The Republican Party is not worthy of him.

In the past, the South was once referred to as the “Solid South.” It got that name because of the fact that the South, as a whole, always voted Democratic. After the tragic loss of the War for Southern Independence, Southerners voted Democratic for over one hundred years. And, this was the main reason they voted that way: Southerners could not easily forget the total physical and economic devastation, indeed, the living hell, that had been worked upon them by Mr. Lincoln and his Republican Party. It was said that Southerners would, if necessary, vote for a “yellow dog” just so long as he or she were a Democrat and not a Republican. That’s how much Southerners detested the Republicans for all of the horrendous war crimes that had been inflicted upon the Southern people.

In more recent times, the Republicans have claimed to be much more principled and virtuous than their despised predecessors. The Republicans have claimed to be conservative. They have proven that they are not. They have claimed to be in favor of abolishing murder by abortion. They have proven that they are not. They have claimed to be in favor of low taxes, small government and state's rights. They have proven that they are not. They have claimed to be in favor of balanced budgets and sound money. They have proven that they are not. They have claimed to be in favor of protecting our freedoms, liberties and property rights. They have proven that they are not. They have also claimed that they were against unjust and unconstitutional wars of aggression. They have proven that they are not. In short, the Republican Party is a gigantic fraud. Does anyone recall Newt Gingrich and his "Contract with America?" What a con job that turned out to be.

This is what the Republicans have proven they really stand for: spewing out a steady stream of self-serving, self-promoting lies; theft on a massive scale and wanton murder. Based on their disastrous fiscal, domestic and foreign policies of the last several years, Bush and the Republicans have done more lasting damage to America than any president or political party since the time of the despised dictator Lincoln – whom they, of course, idolize.

I must say that I detest Bush and the Republicans for all of the monstrous lies they've told. There were no Iraqi "weapons of mass destruction" and there were no Iraqi alliances with any terrorists whatsoever. And, as they deliberately led many Americans to believe, there certainly weren't any Iraqi nuclear bombs that were about to be rained down upon our heads. It was all a pack of lies. The lies were designed to frighten the American people into a war that would benefit the Republicans and their fat-cat, war-loving, military-industrial cronies.

I detest Bush and the Republicans for their blatant theft of Iraqi oil. The violent seizure of the Iraqi oil fields was the original cause for soaring oil prices. With the ongoing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and with the threat of new wars constantly emanating from the White House, the oil markets are being kept in a state of near panic to say the least. This has given speculators a grand opportunity to manipulate prices. With each new threat to the flow of oil from the Persian Gulf, they are pushing up the price of oil to unheard of new highs with every passing week. No doubt, Bush and his chummy buddies in the oil industry aren't shedding any tears about that. The astronomical price for oil is one of the primary reasons Americans are now facing a painful and protracted recession. Thanks a lot George; thanks a lot Republicans.

I detest Bush and the Republicans for destroying the purchasing power of our hard-earned dollars. In order to keep expanding the military's empire of far-flung bases, and to finance their disastrous and ongoing wars of imperialism, the Republicans have increased the public debt enormously. This is one of the principal causes for the unrelenting decline in the value of the U.S. dollar. Caught between ever-rising oil prices and an ever-sinking dollar, the average American's standard of living is heading for the status of "banana republic."

I detest Bush and the Republicans for their immoral, unjustified and brutal wars of naked aggression that has slandered the good name of America all over the world. And, after a five-year campaign of relentless lies, deception, savage butchery and non-stop mayhem that has transformed Iraq and Afghanistan into two living hell holes, they are now trying to frighten Americans into yet another war of imperialism with the Iranians! My God, is there no end to their insufferable bloodlust?

As every true Christian knows, the Lord Jesus Christ taught all of these things: "Do not give false testimony"; and "Do not steal"; and "Do not murder"; and "Love your neighbor as yourself"; and "Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called sons of God." Therefore, I have some words of extreme caution for those Republicans who claim to be "born-again Christians" on the one hand and who, on the other hand, condone and even encourage the unjustified slaughter of hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women and children. This is what the Lord Jesus Christ, the "Prince of Peace," had to say about those who are unable to accept and understand His teachings: "Why is my language not clear to you? Because: you are unable to hear what I say. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies." And, again, the Lord Jesus taught us; "He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God." I can now see them frantically searching their concordances. Good, that's a great starting point.

The Southern people of 1860 recognized the Republican Party for what it was and still is; an illegitimate, bastard child, born of two of the very worst vices ever known to man, namely: unbridled greed and insatiable lust for power. The present day Republican Party is not much different from the Republican Party of Lincoln. It is still just as greedy and power-hungry as its infamous predecessor ever was but with one gigantic difference; with the vast fiscal, political and military power it currently controls, the Republican Party of today is not only a threat to the well-being, peace and security of any and all regions in America, but it is now a "clear and present danger" to the well-being, peace and security of our entire planet. And, true to its evil origins, it is doing just exactly what you would expect it to do.

Come this November, I will vote. I will vote for a “yellow dog” just so long as he or she is not a member of the eternally corrupt Republican Party. Will a Democratic administration be any better? I seriously doubt it. But, at the very least, the lying, thieving, murdering Republicans won't be the first hogs at the trough anymore.

It is my hope that the Republican Party will be so thoroughly defeated at the polls this year that it will never rise again. I will vote this year for this one reason: I don’t want Bush and the Republican Party to get away with their “high crimes and misdemeanors” against the American people and I don't want them to get away with all of their horrendous sins against God and the whole of humanity. I’ve got a feeling my late great-grandfather, Calvin Lee (a Confederate soldier), of Marion County, South Carolina, would be very proud of me for that.
