It's bad enough that war, deemed by those who have experienced it as an unmitigated horror, is much harder to turn off than to start; and always involves unexpected consequences. We are frankly, in what Southerners call a "fix" and all the chest-thumping jingoism in the world won't change that. My question today is simple — isn't one war at a time enough?
