August 11-15. Williamsburg, Virginia. The International Society for Individual Liberty's 26^th World Freedom Summit will coincide with the 400^th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown in 1607. Among an international line-up of speakers will be LRC columnist Butler Shaffer. Conference fees start at $620 (without lodging). Student scholarships are available that cover everything except travel. All details are here.
August 21. Arlington, VA. Paul Gottfried will speak at a panel on "The GOP and the Right—Can This Marriage Be Saved?" for the Robert Taft Club along with Terence P. Jeffrey and W. James Antle III. The event will take place at 8pm on Tuesday at the Fillmore Room, Boulevard Woodgrill, 2901 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA. There will be hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. Guests are welcome.
